Platform to optimize parcel shipping and delivery

Envoi Québec, a platform designed to help businesses manage and optimize parcel delivery. It integrates local carriers and promotes low-carbon delivery.

The platform is notable for integrating local and low-carbon carriers. Envoi Montréal was launched in 2020 and, due to its success, was expanded in 2022 to cover all of Quebec, becoming Envoi Québec.

Project description

The pandemic accelerated the adoption of online commerce, forcing many businesses to adapt quickly. To meet this need, the Quebec Retail Council (CQCD) implemented a simple and efficient shipping solution specifically designed for retailers. In collaboration with Machool Technologies, which provides a shipping management platform, the CQCD deployed an integrated service to facilitate the digital transition of Montreal merchants.

The process is simple: the customer places an order on the retailer’s online store, connected to the platform. The order automatically appears for the merchant, who then selects a carrier from the negotiated options, prints the shipping label, prepares the parcel, and schedules a pickup. The carrier then collects the parcel and delivers it to the customer.

Coop Carbone was involved in the project to integrate low-carbon delivery solutions, showcased through the Envoi Québec platform. The rollout occurred in several stages: first, the integration of electric vehicle and bicycle deliveries; next, the addition of delivery to lockers and pickup/drop-off points. Finally, a “green plug-in” was developed to automatically highlight eco-friendly delivery options directly on online retail sites. Since 2024, the platform also promotes the Sustainable Delivery Certification, allowing end customers to clearly identify last-mile delivery options certified as sustainable.

“Envoi Québec always highlights the eco-friendly options, and if the prices are competitive, that’s always what I choose.”
— Marie Beaupré, Les Mauvaises Herbes

“We use low-carbon solutions whenever we can: we pay close attention to this because it’s part of the environmental impact of our solution.”
— Damien Rambeaud, Iris et Arlo
